Tim W. Burch, PLS Timothy W. Burch, PLS is the Director of Survey for SPACECO, Inc., Rosemont, Illinois, where his duties include establishing new markets and clients and mentoring of surveying staff. With over 30 years’ experience, he has been a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Illinois since 1997. A longtime member of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyor’s Association, he has served all offices of the Northeast Chapter (2008-2012), and as Governmental Affairs Chair (2010-present), he helped to guide revised language of the Illinois Land Surveyor’s Act of 1989 thorough the 2017 Illinois Legislative Session and into law. He also participated in the Illinois Boundary Law book project written by Jeff Lucas, organized by the Northeast Chapter, and published by the IPLSA for its members in 2013. Tim also currently serves as the Secretary of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) Board of Directors (2014-present) and is on the NSPS Certified Survey Technician (CST) Board (2016-present). He serves as a Brand Ambassador for the “Get Kids into Survey” initiative created by Elaine Ball from England. Tim is a co-contributing editor for survey in GPS World Magazine (2015-present) and occasional contributor to the Illinois Surveyor newsletter. He earned his A.A.S. degree in Business Management from McHenry County College.
